Dragged Along by my Guiding Star...

I began writing this blog entry on September 1 as August rolled into a new month. It was the first day of Spring in this hemisphere and I felt excited for the change in the air.

After two months of booking a tour and making a video clip I was excited to share my flourishing news with you. Alas, just before I hit the 'Send' button at 3:48pm my world came crashing down and a couple of key shows had fallen through. Needless to say I was devastated and had to face the reality that my tour was no longer viable. I admit my coffee mug didn't make it out in one piece and I spent the next week in mourning (and cleaning up coffee stains & shards of china!). Grief gave way to finding solace in doing something completely different and I found myself bonding with a sewing machine!

My creativity found a new place to flow and several up-cycled outfits and circle skirts later something beautiful simply happened all of it's own accord. As I let go of trying to control everything and accepted my tour may get completely cancelled, other things started reappearing and I began to feel like I was in some Dr. Wayne Dyer film (may he rest in peace).

My tour simplified from an all-out-East-Coast-drive-venue-hop to a civilised jaunt over a few weekends from October 11th through to December 6th and my van Lady-Luck is now spared the Brissy-Melbourne run thanks to a Virgin Australia fight. The biggest gig that fell through miraculously reappeared and here I am all zen and sitting pretty in my first circle skirt and announcing my revamped tour that IS Happening! I guess the stars were guiding me more than I realised? (Excuse the coincidental pun)

Back On Track :

GUIDING STAR can be heard now on any community radio station in Australia as they have exclusive early access to it via the wonderful AMRAP-AirIt initiative. Simply phone or write to your local radio and request them to play it.

It hits iTunes on October 6th and the video clip will be launched on YouTube October 9th.

So although this month started out rockier than rocky I am so pleased to say I rode those bad waves like a pro (only broken 2 mugs in my life!).

I will write again much sooner...with more goodies (links) and craft news as I bang out new screen printed merchandise by hand with this crazy-good poster design by Shelly.
